Almost everyday I drive past fields of corn and soybeans. This is even though I live in a suburb of a thriving metropolitan area.
I am also a pastor for two small member rural churches about 30 miles from where I live. It is a blessing to see such a difference in landscape.
One moment I'm in the "country", driving past fields that over the past summer have grown from a spotty light green carpet of matchsticks to now, 9 foot tall golden colored stalks of corn waving their long feather like husks blowing in the wind.
